Nelson is a senior majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Marketing and will be graduating in the Spring 2023 semester. He joined SLC during Fall 2021 to be more engaged with college activities and to enhance his programming skills. Upon his graduation, he plans to pursue a career as a software engineer. His dream is to develop and publish 100 apps before retiring.

In the Tech department, students from technical backgrounds get to connect with the business students.
Over the past few years, CS and CIS students have been heavily envolved in the council.
They have created the official website of the SLC and are currently maintaining it. Apart from these, the tech department
plays a key role helping members of the council with tech support and helps to create a bridge between the tech and business students.

Esha Abbasi is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Public Accounting and Business Management. She is an aspiring CPA and wants to further her career in that field. Esha is the President of the Koppelman Student Leadership Council however, she initially started as the Director of the Operations Department. She is passionate about giving back to the community with help of her leadership skills and her goal for SLC is to make it the most reputable council of Brooklyn College.

Qasim is a senior pursuing a B.B.A in Finance and a B.S in Public Accounting and Business Management. After graduating, Qasim is looking forward to getting his licensure as a CPA and using the financial knowledge and skills to advance himself in his career. Prior experience studying financial markets with a team, over 3 years of customer service and having a leadership position here at the SLC has taught him how to work with a very diverse group of people and the patience needed for it.

James is a super senior pursuing a B.S. in Public Accounting & Business Management. Upon graduation, James will be working full time at PwC in the State and Local Tax team. His experience includes a completion of 135+ hours of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistant program and internship from PwC where he further developed his business acumen and technological skills and received a return offer right after. He also had leadership positions roles from being the president of the Smooth Talkers club and as a Peer Mentor.

The marketing department is intended to use creativity to enhance the efforts of our SLC peers by
promoting and advertising events on our social media. Behind the scenes, the department is responsible for creating content,
making flyers, interacting with KBS students online and being the brand ambassadors for SLC. There’s always something
new to do in marketing, with creativity and invitation the marketing team is always searching for new ways to improve and advance
the student outreach strategy.

Nagifa is a Sophomore majoring in Finance. She joined the Student Leadership Council (SLC) in her freshman year and currently holds the position of Director of Club and Faculty. She is passionate to build a strong community on campus with students beyond the Business school. SLC has helped her build leadership skills and in the future She aspires to start her career in coorporate banking.

Club & Faculty Relations

The Club Relations department aims to act as an intermediary between all of the active KSB
clubs. This department takes great pride in developing intimate connections with clubs in order to establish a larger
network where those clubs can then interact and collaborate with each other. Our chief purpose is to be the bridge that
tethers to all KSB clubs and brings them closer together!

Tre is currently pursuing a B.B.A in Finance, and minors in computer science. He loves reading topics on the economy, politics and finance, because being informed on aspects which may directly affect his life is important to him. He recently interned at Aon sitting in corporate strategy, and is now at a robotics startup executing business development. In the future he is planning on working in financial services, then hopes to transition into an advisory role.
